How to combat extreme weather like storm and hurricane

Extreme weather disasters kills millions of people every year in the world.

Recently, hurricane Irma gets everyone’s attention by tearing through the Florida and making landfall along the state’s southwest coast. It is a horrified disaster, and we hope that the damage can be lessen greatly with people and the government’s help. Admittedly, it makes me think of how can we survive from any natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes, storms, even snowstorm etc..

Preparation is critical to surviving natural disasters, I think this is a common sense. However, do you think most people are prepared for extreme weather events? No. I think most people are aware of the weather. People tend to be optimistic to disaster and they don’t think they have such bad luck. They usually don't think about that until the storm arrives, and then they freak out and wonder what to do.

I think it's important to be mindful of nature's signals. Besides, it is always good too prepare a emergent kit at home. What are the thins should be added to your emergent kit-box?

1. A High Lumen Tactical Flashlight

Flashlight is always useful when you are under a heavy storm even snowstorm. A good flashlight can reach a long observation range up to 600 feet even under extreme weather. Attention: If you can, turn your flashlight on outside (rather than inside0. Because it causes a tiny spark that could ignite gas if there is a leak.

  

2. A rain-coat

This coat is for proof water when there is a storm, but, please do not wear such plastic coat when this a wildfire.

3. ID tags or microchips for your pets

It's also important to have ID tags or microchips, so you can track your pet down if need be.

4. Medicines and bandages

Just in case of getting injured, and get a cold or fever from the extreme weather.

This list can go on and it depends on what do you think is practical for natural disasters.
